Don't Touch My Junk!

John Tyner's confrontation with a TSA security agent has become the national face joining a chorus of many Americans who are angry and frustrated about the overly invasive TSA full body pat down for people refusing to undergo a "naked" x-ray imaging scanner. When the TSA agent explained to Tyner that he would have to touch his groin area, Tyner told the TSA agent, "if you touch my junk I'm going to have you arrested"

Tyner not only got his 15-minute of fame but his spontaneous outburst has extended his fame indefinitely. This is yet another example of how such instant pop culture phrases are added to the English language. "Don't Touch My Junk" will surely be used by Americans in conversations and will be used by entrepreneurs to sell products. It will surely be used by comedians. For me, I would have told off the agent..."if you touch my precious, I'm going to have you arrested."

I agree that there has got to be some sort of balance in providing security to screen passengers going through our airports. The TSA has told us to SHUT UP and subject ourselves to full body pat down if we choose not to go through the "naked body" x-ray machines. It's for our own good they tell us. However, the political correctness practiced by the TSA is going to get Americans killed one day. Where's the common sense? Let's not waste time patting down three year olds and elderly nuns. We secure the passengers but most of the cargo on passenger airlines are not scanned. How's that for security? Isn't it a joke and tragedy waiting to happen? Let's learn from the El Al Airlines and how they conduct security checks.

Lack of common sense?
