I was eyeing on a good deal for a
Dell refurbished computer Studio computer to replace my aging home theather computer. Sometimes Dell offers good deals in the refurbished department especially if you get a discount coupon making the computer even cheaper. However, I bought a refurbished Dell XPS M1330 laptop for my son and it lasted only one year. To add insult to injury, my laptop died 15 days after the warranty expired! I wasn't too happy with the cheaply build Dell XPS to begin with and the laptop going bad after one year made me rethink about getting another Dell computer.
One day I was checking my email and saw a too good to ignore computer deal from the
Sam's Club. Tired of waiting for a refurbish coupon from Dell, I jumped on the Sam's club deal. The ZT Affinity 7282Xa
computer is a well equipped computer for HDTV home theater (HTPC) and dvd/blu-ray movie backup applications (Slysoft.com Anydvd HD, and cloneDVD).
There's few computers out there that can match the configuration and pricing of the computer. The list price was $798 - $100 discount = $698. Wow what a deal! And ZT computer offers a two year warranty which is much better than the typical one year warranty you get with most other manufacturers. Use an American Express card and you automatically get another year's of extended warranty. I don't have to tell you that three years is a long time in computer years. After three years I probably need a new computer to live up to my wife's "five of everything" label.
About the part number: I think the ZT Affinity 7282Xa is a Sam's Club configuration. Costco is also selling
ZT Systems computers but with different part numbers. Check out the manufacturer's web site for more details.
